Frenship Middle School

Home Page

Like my father, I was born and raised in Midlothian Texas, 30 minutes south of Dallas/Fort Worth. After graduating from Midlothian High School in 1988, I followed in the footsteps of both of my parents and attended Abilene Christian University from 1988-1992. I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education with a specialization in History in 1992. I am highly qualified to teach 1st - 6th grade self-contained & any subject as well as 7th - 8th grade History and Math. This will be my 31st year as an educator. I spent the first 8 years of my teaching career in Lubbock ISD at Wheelock Elementary teaching 3rd, 5th & 6th grades & all subjects, and the last 22 years here at Frenship Junior High, now known as Frenship Middle School, teaching 7th & 8th grade Math, 8th Algebra, 8th grade American History and 6th grade World Cultures. I am currently teaching 6th grade Social Studies, as well as being the sponsor for the FMS Cheerleaders. I am also the FMS representative for the FISD Insurance Committee. My late husband of 27 years, Doug Smith, and I were BLESSED beyond measure with three AMAZING children. We have 2 beautiful daughters who are both Frenship High School Alumni, and are third generation Abilene Christian University alumni. Our oldest daughter, Kirsten Grace Smith, graduated from ACU's School of Nursing in December of 2017. She is an RN currently working as a travel nurse. Our youngest daughter, Reagan Alexandra Smith, graduated from ACU with a BS in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Special Education in December 2018, and is working at Greathouse Elementary in Midland ISD. Our awesome son, Luke Arden Smith, is also a Frenship High School Alumni who was recruited by and attended Midwestern Preparatory Academy in Chicago from August-November 2020 to improve his ability to play football at the college level. He plans to begin college in the next few years. I love being a Frenship Tiger, and I am so excited about my classes this year!
