Hi!! I am very excited to be teaching 6th grade Science this year. This is my 27th year to be teaching with 10 years in Lubbock and the last 16 years as a Frenship Tiger:):) I graduated from Texas Tech University with a B.S. degree in Animal Science and then obtained my Master's Degree in Multidisciplinary Sciences at Texas Tech in 2008. My passion is teaching Science and seeing my students learn and succeed. I am currently the FMS Science Department Head.
I have three wonderful children--Kevin, Matthew, and Meagan. Kevin is married to my beautiful daughter-in-law Dabnee'. I have two adorable granddaughters. Kevin was in the Air Force and is now pursuing a Wind Energy Master's Degree at Texas Tech University. Matthew graduated in May 2020 from Texas Tech with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts degree in Theatre Arts and is teaching Technical Theatre at Kingwood High School just outside of Houston. My youngest, Meagan, graduated SPC with her Cosmetology certificate. She is working full time as a Pharmacy Technician currently and taking Cosmetology clients on the side.
In July of 2008, I won the AT&T Foundation for Excellence in Teaching Award and then in March of 2013, I won the Beaumont Foundation's Newton Excellence in Education Award.
