Ms. Nash completed her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Hardin-Simmons University, with trombone as her primary instrument. After teaching band, orchestra, mariachi, and guitar in Texas public schools, as well as teaching jazz theory and jazz ensemble at the University of Texas (Permian Basin), she attended the Aebersold Summer Jazz Workshop in 2008, which led to an opportunity to obtain a Master’s degree in Jazz Studies at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. She graduated in 2011 from the jazz bass studio of Chris Fitzgerald. Additionally private instructors include John Goldsby (WDR Big Band, ), David Freisen (Chick Corea, Michael Brecker, Joe Henderson, Stan Getz, etc.), and Rufus Reid (Dexter Gordon, Kenny Barron, Jack DeJohnette, etc.). Ms. Nash has also served as an adjunct orchestra faculty member at Abilene Christian University.
Ms. Nash has performed professionally in numerous ensembles, symphonies, big bands, combos, musicals, recordings, and orchestras on trombone, string bass, and electric bass. In addition, Ms. Nash worked for two cruise lines as a bassist and musical director (2011 - 2019), giving her a unique opportunity to collaborate with gifted, inspiring performers from all over the world. Her travels included destinations in Asia, Europe, Latin America, the Caribbean, and the Middle East.
As a music educator, Ms. Nash’s passion is to assist students in mastering the fundamentals of music and developing independent learning techniques.
