About Mr. Sides

Hello! My name is Mr. Sides, and I am in my 10th year of education and my third year at Frenship Middle School. I teach Technology Applications, Digital Design, and Yearbook, where I enjoy helping students build creativity, technical skills, and confidence through hands-on learning experiences.

In addition to teaching, I serve as the Robotics coach and UIL Chess Puzzle coach. I love providing students with opportunities to challenge themselves, think critically, and develop problem-solving skills both inside and outside the classroom.

I have been honored to receive several awards throughout my career, including being selected as a Frenship Foundation Grant Recipient for the 2026-27 school year, being named Teacher of the Year in 2023 at River Valley Middle School in Midway ISD, and receiving the Mrs. Baird's Teacher on the Rise award in March 2026.

When I'm not at school, I enjoy 3D printing, exercising, and spending time outdoors with my wife and our three children. I am passionate about technology, lifelong learning, and helping students discover new ways to create, innovate, and succeed.
