Sims will take the reins and lead the Frenship ISD Administrative and Student Services Department following the retirement of Assistant Superintendent Richard Dean this summer.
Sims joined the Frenship family back in 2008 and brings a wealth of knowledge to his new role with a total of 28 years of experience in education. He has served in various positions including teaching, coaching, assistant principal, and most recently the Reese Education Center principal since 2021.
“I am excited for the new challenge and truly want to continue to help and support the families and students of Frenship,” said Sims. “We are moving into an exciting time in Frenship ISD as we continue to grow and open a new high school. I’m glad to be a part of it.”
As the Frenship ISD Executive Director of Administrative Services, Sims will be responsible for overseeing multiple areas that impact student needs such as health related services and nurses, bullying resources and prevention, counseling and guidance services, school safety and security, student discipline and compliance, student enrollment, and district policies.
"Scott has done a remarkable job as the Reese Principal these last few years, and I know he is the perfect fit for our Administrative Services Department. He has poise, self-control, and has the ability to handle high-stress, complex situations with grace, honesty, fairness - all essential skills for this position," said Frenship ISD Superintendent Dr. Michelle McCord.
Sims will finish out the school year as the Reese Education Center principal and will officially take on the new role this summer.
Sims is married to his college sweetheart Gina, and they have three children and a daughter-in-law, all proud Frenship Tigers.
