Frenship Middle School Hosts Spooky Story Contest

The Frenship Middle School media specialist, Tinese Ammons, started a Spooky Story Contest in the library after she got the idea from a librarian group social media post. The students have to write a scary story using only two sentences.

“I decided to do the contest as another way to involve students,” sated Ammons. “Different students have different interests and motivations so I'm always looking for activities I can do to reach students where they are.”

While the students have stated this is a challenge, there are already 59 online submissions and 20 handwritten submissions. So far, the contest seems to be going well and Ammons will look into hosting another one next year.

On Monday, some winners will be selected, and they will receive a prize from the Book Fair, which is happening currently in the FMS library. The winners' stories will also be read on FMS’s Tiger Vision News for the Halloween broadcast.
