National History Day is a competition that develops skills in communication, research, critical thinking, and team building in middle school students and equips them with real-world skills students can carry into their futures. 

For this competition, the middle school students developed individual, or group historical projects based on research and then presented those projects to a panel of judges.  

All seventh-grade students worked on projects this year as part of their Texas History class. After students completed their projects, students presented their projects at their campus-level competitions in February. The winners of those campus competitions went on to compete at the regional competition held at Texas Tech University on March 5th. 

Nine students from across the three middle schools will be attending the state National History Day competition, to be held on April 23.

1st Place Group Documentary:

2nd Place Group Documentary: 

Jack Molina, Abdiel Hernandez, and Audrey Trull (HMS, Mr. Thurman) 

2nd Place Individual Website: 

Zade McClure (FMS, Mr. Rumfield) 

2nd Place Group Website: 

Sky Sabal, Addison Carroll, and Avery Vasquez (HMS, Mr. Johnson)
