The visit was made possible through collaboration between several FMS educators including 6th grade Honors teachers Darian Gerdes, Kacee Goodgion, Ida Cisneros, Media Specialist Tinese Ammons, her assistant Danielle Zerrata, and the FMS IT Specialist Teresa Hopping.
During the virtual visit, Gonzales spoke to students about her educational journey to her career and what it's like to design book covers for the largest publishing company in the U.S, going in-depth with the publishing and marketing process. She explained career opportunities with graphic design and other artistic fields.
Gonzales showed the eager students the design process for A Wrinkle In Time and then showed them other books she has designed. Students were then able to win a special edition copy of the novel designed by Gonzales.
