The different groups included secondary teachers, elementary teachers, current middle school students, current high school students, community members and parents, campus principals, and Casey Administration staff.
The groups all focused on the same few questions that revolved around the caliber of education at Frenship, how education can meet today’s technological demands, and where the focus group members personally want to see Frenship in the next several years.
One major topic of discussion was Technology. Focus group members expressed the necessity for evolving technology, and that by incorporating it in the classroom creatively and intentionally students will be better prepared for the future work force.
Another big topic of discussion was the need for students to have mastered soft skills like communication, adaptability, and time management by the time they graduate and move on to college or their future careers.
In addition to the seven Focus Group sessions, Frenship hosted it’s second Strategic Planning Educational Summit. At the summit, the same topics from the focus group sessions were discussed, giving additional input on the hot-button topics.
The next step in Strategic Planning are a series of Design Team meetings, where members will narrow the gathered information and develop a timeline that will determine priorities, focus resources, and ensure that staff and stakeholders are working toward the District’s common goals.
