Heath Simpson was named the Director of Human Resources for Frenship ISD.

Simpson took on the new role with 17 years of experience in education, including eight years as an administrator. He joined the Frenship family in 2013 as an Assistant Principal for Frenship High School. Simpson played a vital role in the successful opening of the Frenship High School Ninth Grade Center in 2017. He has served the last four years as the FHS Ninth Grade Center Principal, helping to shape the culture and growth of the new campus. During that time, he was named the 2018 Region 17 Principal of the Year by the Texas Association of Secondary Principals.

“I’ve been able to make an impact at the campus level, and now I’m excited for the opportunity to serve all 14 Frenship campuses and work with students and staff across the district,” said Simpson. “I’m blessed to be in this role, and I’m looking forward to learning and growing in this new position."

Scott Sims is the new Principal at the Reese Education Center.

For the last 13 years, Sims has served in various teaching and leadership positions at Frenship High School. Most recently, Sims served eight years as an FHS assistant principal and was named an Assistant Principal of the Year finalist in 2018 by the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals.

“Students deserve an optimistic and hopeful future, and it is my job is to encourage, equip, and motivate them in claiming this future as their own,” said Sims. “Reese is the campus where the non-traditional student has historically found success in accomplishing their academic goals. This legacy is worth celebrating and cultivating, so we will continue to build on what is working and investigate creative and resourceful solutions in areas where academic progress can be improved.”

Kelly Eleuterius is tackling her new role as Principal at Bennett Elementary.

Eleuterius previously served as the Bennett Elementary assistant principal for the last two years. Eleuterius has 25 years of experience in education working in middle schools and elementary schools across Texas. During her time in education, she has served as a math teacher, girls athletic coach, various campus leadership roles, and four years as an assistant principal.

“I've always been drawn to service and gravitated to working with children,” said Eleuterius. “I feel really blessed the district is trusting me with this big opportunity. I’m overwhelmed with excitement to have the chance to continue the legacy of all the principals before me.”

Justin Burrus is the new Principal at the FHS Ninth Grade Center.

Burrus is a Tiger through and through. As a child he attended North Ridge Elementary, Crestview Elementary, Bennett Intermediate, Frenship Junior High and Frenship High School. After graduating from Lubbock Christian University, earning his master's degree at the University of Denver, and teaching English in Japan, Burrus returned to Lubbock to teach at Monterey High School. In 2019, Burrus came back to his roots as a Frenship Tiger in the role of Assistant Principal at the FHS Ninth Grade Center. 

"I look forward to watching the Ninth Grade Center team grow closer together as we grow students," Burrus said. "As a leader, it's a great feeling seeing teachers grow in skill and confidence. I am also excited to continue my own personal and professional growth as I honor my leadership responsibilities."

Other new leaders include; Erik Kirkpatrick, taking over for Scott Sims as an Assistant Principal at Frenship High School, Josh Pratt, moving from teaching at the Ninth Grade Center to taking on the role of Assistant Principal, Kimberly Moore, joining the Bennett Elementary team as their new Assistant Principal, and Kelly Grace, joining Amy Smallwood as a Crisis Intervention Counselor for the District.
